The symphony concert with Daniel Harding from 29 June to 5 July 2024 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan promises a moving performance of the Requiem in D minor, KV 626 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Mozart’s Requiem is one of his best-known and most impressive works. It was left unfinished and completed by his pupil Franz Xaver Süssmayr after Mozart’s death. The work is characterized by profound spirituality, dramatic choirs, virtuosic solo parts and a rich palette of sounds.
Renowned soloists will perform for this concert, including Rosa Feola (soprano), Cecilia Molinari (mezzo-soprano), Giovanni Sala (tenor) and Adam Plachetka (bass). With their individual vocal abilities, they will express the emotional intensity and lyrical beauty of the Requiem.
Daniel Harding, an internationally acclaimed conductor, will conduct the Orchestra of La Scala, applying his interpretive sensitivity and experience to create a stirring and poignant performance of the Requiem. Under his direction, the orchestra will express the subtle nuances and dramatic climaxes of this masterful composition.
