Two visionary contemporary choreographers converge on the stage of La Scala in a thrilling double bill. This production features the return of the acclaimed David Dawson and marks the highly anticipated Italian debut of Marcos Morau . Presenting two works never before seen in Italy, this evening showcases contrasting but equally brilliant reinventions of classical ballet tradition. While Dawson explores the emotional cycle of human life through a fluid, deeply human approach, Morau brings a fresh, disorienting perspective that deconstructs traditional dance vocabulary. Set to captivating electronic and classical soundscapes, is new production offers a powerful celebration of modern movement, light, and visual storytelling.

This contemporary double bill features two distinct, non-narrative ballets that explore the limits of movement.
In the first part, The Four Seasons, choreographer David Dawson utilizes Max Richter’s famous neoclassical reimagining of Vivaldi’s score. The piece is a grand choral work exploring the human cycle of life, transitioning through changing forms, colors, and lights across stages dedicated to the four natural elements.
The second part features Marcos Morau’s Étude, a highly acclaimed recent work originally created for the Paris Opera Ballet. Morau deconstructs the rigid architectures and codes of classical ballet. He creates an unsettling, surreal landscape that investigates the relationship between darkness and light, transforming a powerful, fractured bodily language into a unique and unforgettable visual identity.
