The Package
Music trip to Milan for 3 days / 2 nights with exclusive program. The highlight is a visit to the famous Teatro alla Scala on the second evening to experience a magnificent performance in a world-famous environment with global stars.
This is the only opera by ever completed by Claude Debussy. In five acts the story develops around one woman and two men. It’s complicated. The opera in five acts had its debut in 1902. With Bernd Richter, tenor from Switzerland, Markus Werba, baritone from Austria, and Patricia Petibon, soprano from France we can expect a great evening with wonderful artistic aries.
The full orchestra and chorus will be there as well. The lyrics of the opera are displayed in original language (French) and in English. The performance takes 2 hours 50 minutes, intermission included. With your premium tickets, you can access the Toscanini Foyer to enjoy a Spumante in the intermission and to see and be seen.
The 3 day city trip includes the hotel in your selected category, a gourmet dinner on the evening of the first day, a private walking tour of the city with a guide in your language, a visit to the La Scala Museum, premium tickets for the selected event at the Teatro alla Scala, and an aperitif before the performance. The schedule and program have been well accepted by our clients and we receive many compliments. However, should you wish to adjust the program, to maybe have a different private sightseeing tour or rather spend the day shopping, add an excursion to Lago di Como, an excursion to Cremona to the Stradivari Museum, then please let us know. The itinerary can be customized to your needs.
The Story
When two men fall in love with the same woman then problems can be expected. The first man to meet Mélisande is Prince Golaud. He finds her lost in the forest, marries her and takes her home. Home, that is the castle of his grandfather King Arkel. However, Prince Golaud has an attractive half-brother, Pelléas. Hence the name of the opera. The story goes on and things get unhealthy. Pelléas decides to leave the castle to evade the situation, but tragedy strikes …
