Verdi’s home region, Parma , celebrates the greatness of its most famous son with this dedicated festival, which takes place for one month around the Maestro’s birthday in October.

The 26th Verdi Festival (from October 1 to 25, 2026) is guided by the theme “Distant Worlds,” recalling the 19th-century fascination with the exotic and cultural dialogue. The program charts a symbolic musical journey across three continents, uniting works rarely presented together: the opening with Alzira, a return to Verdi’s early years with Nabuccodonosor, and an immersion into the imaginary Egypt of Aida. The Festival concludes with the Messa da Requiem, a moment of high spiritual and musical intensity.

Performances will be held not only in the famous Teatro Regio but also in the unique Teatro Farnese and the Teatro Verdi in Busseto. Visiting the festival is a unique opportunity to explore his birthplace in Roncole, the Maestro’s villa in Sant’Agata, and his testaments in Busseto and Parma, allowing you to discover where and how the musical genius of Giuseppe Verdi originated.

Some of the events take place at the Teatro Regio in Parma or at the church San Francesco in Prato in Parma. Other events take place in the Teatro Verdi in Busseto. Sant’Agata near Busseto is the place of birth of Giuseppe Verdi. It is about 40 km distant from Parma. Here is the original house of the composer where he spent his childhood. For events at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto, we can provide hotels nearby or private transfers from Parma.

Some of our guests would like to have a family room, however, also available are single rooms or apartments. Some of our guests arrive with their own car, others might want to include a car rental option which we can facilitate.
