Just in time for the holiday season, the most beloved ballet classic of all time returns to the stage of Teatro Regio di Torino. Performed by the Ballet of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece becomes a poetic coming-of-age journey. Under the guidance of the legendary Georgian étoile Nina Ananiashvili and choreographer Aleksej Fadeečev (former artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet), this production blends technical virtuosity with a touch of Georgian spirit. An essential experience for families and ballet enthusiasts alike, perfectly capturing the festive atmosphere of Turin.
Plot of the The Nutcracker
A Journey Through Dreams and Snowflakes – A magical experience for the whole family
The story follows young Clara-Marie on Christmas Eve. Her uncle, the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer, gives her a Nutcracker that comes to life at midnight.
The Battle: Clara finds herself in the middle of a frightening battle between toy soldiers and an army of mice led by the Mouse King. With courage, she saves her Nutcracker, who then transforms into a Prince.
The Winter Wonderland: Together, they travel through an enchanted forest where snowflakes dance, eventually reaching the Kingdom of Sweets.
The Finale: In the Land of the Sugar Plum Fairy, they celebrate a festival of the senses—accompanied by coffee, chocolate, and the famous Waltz of the Flowers. At the end of this magical night, Clara-Marie awakens with the feeling that she has stepped closer to the adult world.
