World of Dance

A spectacular, rhythmic journey around the globe, suspended between the sea and the stars: On Sunday, 19 July, world-renowned Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki transforms the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo into a breathtaking stage of movement. In his critically acclaimed solo program “World of Dance”, Lisiecki—hailed by The New York Times as “a pianist who makes the music breathe”—explores the vibrant, elemental power of dance across the centuries. From the elegant salons of Chopin and Schubert and the wild, rustic folklore of Bartók and Ginastera, to the sultry, passionate tango rhythms of Piazzolla and Albéniz, this performance is a sparkling kaleidoscope of color and emotion.
