Homage to Miles

An electric summer night dedicated to the man who continuously redefined the sound of jazz: On Saturday, 8 August, the Ravello Festival presents an exclusive, original production on the breathtaking Belvedere of Villa Rufolo. “Omaggio a Miles” is a deeply soulful, high-energy homage to the legendary Miles Davis. Crucially, this stellar sextet is led by the acclaimed American saxophonist Rick Margitza—who actually recorded and toured alongside Miles Davis in the late 1980s (including playing on the iconic album Amandla). Backed by a phenomenal all-star lineup, including drum giant Jeff Ballard and Italy’s premier bass virtuoso Dario Deidda, the ensemble beautifully channels the visionary spirit, unparalleled cool, and boundary-pushing energy of Miles Davis under the Amalfi stars.
