On May 11, 2025, the 87th Festival del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino presents an exceptional concert conducted by Daniele Gatti at the Teatro del Maggio.
The evening opens with Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony in C, a striking work that blends neoclassical elegance with rhythmic dynamism, composed during a pivotal period in the composer’s life.
The second half of the concert features Sergei Prokofiev’s Aleksandr Nevsky, Op. 78, a powerful and dramatic cantata based on the composer’s score for Sergei Eisenstein’s legendary 1938 film.
The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of chorus master Lorenzo Fratini, will be joined by the distinguished alto Ksenia Dudnikova, bringing this epic and emotionally charged work to life.
