From May 14 to May 18, 2024, in Florence becomes the stage for an unconventional operatic spectacle that challenges convention and ignites the imagination. Vacchi’s bold narrative, inspired by Voltaire’s Maid of Orleans, confronts themes of power, authority, and rebellion with irreverent wit and literary finesse. In this new staging commissioned by the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, audiences are invited to embark on a journey of amusement and introspection, exploring the subversive potential of art in unraveling societal norms.
