Turandot is on the schedule from December 9th to 17th, 2023 at the Teatero San Carlo Naples.
The opening of the new 2023/24 season will take place on December 9th. Look forward to the new production by the Teatro di San Carlo with the conductor Dan Ettinger and directed by Vasily Barkhatov with an outstanding cast.“Turandot” is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini. The action takes place in ancient China and revolves around the princess Turandot, who poses a series of riddles to her suitors. Those who can solve the puzzles get to marry her, while those who fail lose their lives. Kalaf, a prince of unknown origin, falls in love with Turandot and faces the riddles to win her heart. With the help of the faithful slave Liù, Kalaf manages to solve the puzzles.
