The ballet evening is dedicated to the two dancers and choreographers Serge Lifar and Roland Petit .
Sergei Mikhailovich Lifar was born in Kyiv in 1904 and followed Bronislava Nijinska to Paris, where, as Serge Lifar, he became a ballet star of the 1930s and 1940s and later had a say in the development of ballet worldwide with his choreographies.
