The opera Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni will be performed from August 25, 2023 to September 3, 2023 at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. Cavalleria rusticana is an opera in one act by Pietro Mascagni to a libretto by Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti and Guido Menasci. It was composed based on the novel of the same name by Giovanni Verga. The premiere took place in 1890 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome.
