Arrival
Arrive at Bari or Brindisi airport and transfer to Matera. If your flight arrives in the morning, the bus stops on the route in Altamura, a city famous for its delicious bread.
Upon arrival in Matera, we will check you in at the hotel.
Basilicata and Matera (6 days with your group)
Discover unknown Italy, the unique region of Basilicata in the deep south of Italy. The region is known for the rock town of Matera, Europe's Capital of Culture 2019, and the beautiful capital Potenza (a small town). Day trips take you to the surrounding villages, landscapes, and coasts.
Notes on Prices
The indicated price is for 20 participants in 10 double rooms, half board, with all entrance fees. The calculated price serves as an orientation. It will be recalculated with your request for a proposal. The tour is organized for your group only. It is carried out with a locally licensed tourist guide in the requested foreign language. Choose from English, German, Chinese, Italian. Other languages we need to check. All participants will receive headphones.
According to how many people you register, we will organize the appropriate bus and airport transfer (Bari or Brindisi).

Wheelchairs and strollers are unfortunately not suitable for the tour through the rock town of Matera.

You can immerse yourself in a slow, relaxed atmosphere that is almost unusual for today.You will visit the Basilicata region and spend 5 nights in beautiful Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Together with your local guide, in the enchanting Matera, you will discover the apartments carved into the rocks, which have been well preserved over the centuries.
You will explore the two coasts of Basilicata, the Tyrrhenian coast, where you will get to know Maratea, the city of 44 churches, and the Ionian coast, known for its vast sandy beaches with eucalyptus and pine trees, and you will visit the towns of Metaponto and Policoro with the archaeological parks with ruins of Greek temples.
You also have the opportunity to visit the unknown area of Mount Vulture, which is covered by small villages and forests. Here the beauty of nature is combined with the history of the Middle Ages, the Normans, the Swabian period, as you can visit the city of Venosa as well as the castles of Melfi and Lagopesole.
