Enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere at the Roman amphitheatre in the heart of Verona in the summer months under the open sky. Please make your travel plans early and select a performance of interest. Because, if there are less than two months to go, the best tickets might be sold out, the hotels might have increased prices and things may become difficult. With our music tours you get the best seats, on upholstered chairs, together with a nice stay program in Verona.

The plot is fictitious but is based on historical events of the war for the Roman Papal States. The opera in 3 acts is about the consul Cesare Angelotti, who was imprisoned in Castel Sant’Angelo. Thanks to the help of his friend Cavaradossi, he was able to escape and found a hiding place in Villa Cavaradossi. However, Tosca, the lover of Cavaradossi, became jealous.
The chief of police, Baron Scarpia, had Angelotti searched and his friend Cavaradossi tortured, but Cavaradossi did not want to betray the friend. Under this pressure, Tosca collapses and reveals Angelotti’s hiding place, who then commits suicide.
In order to save her lover, who has since been sentenced to death, Tosca sells herself to the police chief Scarpia. When Scarpia has signed the safe-conduct letter for Cavaradossi, Tosca stabs the police chief Scarpia to flee with Cavaradossi.
However, the opera ends tragically for all the main actors: Cavaradossi, who was only supposed to be executed in appearance, was shot. Tosca was horrified to discover that Sciarpa had betrayed her. In the meantime the stabbed Sciarpa had been found, whereupon Tosca threw himself from the Castel Sant’Angelo.
