Two operas that are a bit closer to our time and are not playing 200 years ago. In fact, Intolleranza is right in our time. The two operas will be supported by the orchestra and chorus of the Teatro alla Scala. The lyrics of the opera are displayed in original language and in English. The evening with two operas will take 1 hour 55 minutes, short intermission included. With your premium tickets, you can access the Toscanini Foyer to enjoy a Spumante in the intermission and to see and be seen.
The 3 day city trip includes the hotel in your selected category, a gourmet dinner on the evening of the first day, a private walking tour of the city with a guide in your language, a visit to the La Scala Museum, premium tickets for the selected event at the Teatro alla Scala, and an aperitif before the performance. The schedule and program have been well accepted by our clients and we receive many compliments. However, should you wish to adjust the program, to maybe have a different private sightseeing tour or rather spend the day shopping, add an excursion to Lago di Como, an excursion to Cremona to the Stradivari Museum, then please let us know. The itinerary can be customized to your needs.
Expectation (Erwartung) is a monodrama, so designed only for one female singer, a young dramatic soprano. The opera also places the highest demands on the choir and the orchestra. It runs about 30 minutes. It is about a woman that is looking for her lover in a dark forest in moonlight. Fear and hope interchange quickly until she … Lzrics are in German.
This political opera in two parts goes over 1 hour 15 and requires a larger team. It was first performed at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice in 1961. This first opera by Luigi Nono is a fiery protest against intolerance and oppression and the violation of human dignity. It was a work for the Venice Biennale in 1961 and premiered at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. The premiere was disturbed by neo-fascists shouting during the torture scene “Viva la polizia” (“Long live the police”). Nono’s opponents accused him of poisoning Italian music.
