George Balanchine died 1983 in Manhattan, but his work lives on. The St. Petersbrug born choreographer is called the father of the American ballet. He is cofounder of the New York City Ballet and was their director for 35 years. His work is well documented and protected. It lives on in this production of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The evening at La Scala including intermission will be 2 hours and 05 minutes. During the break you can go to the Toscanini Foyer to enjoy a Spumante and to see and be seen.
