The evening begins with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the “Pastoral,” a beautiful ode to the countryside with its gentle streams and vibrant landscapes. The concert concludes with Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s Symphony No. 3, the “Scottish,” a work inspired by the misty highlands and dramatic history of Scotland.
