Il cappello di paglia di Firenze (The Straw Hat of Florence) is an opera by Nino Rota, a renowned Italian composer known for his film scores. In 2024 the project "Il cappello di paglia di Firenze" will be handed over to the students of the Scala Academy. The opera tells a light and enchanting comedy, staged at La Scala in Milan in 1998 by Bruno Campanella and Pier Luigi Pizzi. The opera returns in a new production by lively director Mario Acampa, who also curates the shows for children and young people in the "Big Shows for Little Ones" cycle.
