We have discovered many beautiful hiking trails in the northern Italian Alps, around Lake Como and Lake Iseo as well as in the hills of the Brianza and Oltrepò Paves, and have developed suggestions for day hikes for you. Hiking Areas in Lombardy, Italy

There are some beautiful hiking areas in Lombardy. It starts with the Alps in the north of Lombardy on the border with Switzerland. There you can find the Valchiavenna and Val Bregaglia. There is, for example, the long-distance hiking trail of Via Spluga from Lake Como via Chiavenna, Madesimo and Isola. The route to Splügen in Switzerland goes over the Splügen Lake and the Splügen Pass.
Other beautiful hiking trails can be found at the waterfalls of the Aquafraggia with the surrounding mountain peaks and around the Val Bregaglia to the Engadin in Switzerland.
Around Lake Como and between the arms of the lake, the hiking trails are at manageable heights. In the triangle between Como, Lecco and Bellagio, one penetrates at heights of up to 1800m to Monte San Primo, Monte Bolletone and Malascarpa.
In the hiking area around Lake Como, there are hiking trails for easy hikes at sea level (Sentiero del Viandante) or difficult hikes around the Resegone and Valsassina with the Piani di Bobbio. It joins the group of the Bergamasque Alps in the Parco delle Orbie Bergamasche north of Lake Iseo with the Parco Naturale Adamello.
There is also a network of hiking trails around Lake Iseo and on the island of Monteisola.
Before the lowland of the Padana dominates Lombardy, there are a few areas in Brianza for easy hikes. You are in the hills north of Milan. In the south of Lombardy, the Oltrepò Pavese connects to the Po plain, a well-known wine region in the hills with hiking and biking trails.
