A spectacular, historically informed grand finale to the 74th Ravello Festival, timed perfectly with the golden sunset: On Saturday, 5 September, the world-renowned Freiburger Barockorchester, under the baton of legendary British conductor Sir Simon Rattle, takes the stage at the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo. They are joined by the sensational violin virtuoso Isabelle Faust for an all-Robert Schumann program performed on period instruments. The evening features Schumann’s mysterious, posthumously published Violin Concerto—a work of haunting, poetic beauty—followed by the triumphant emotional arc and symphonic power of his monumental Symphony No. 2. A glorious, unforgettable farewell suspended between the sea and the sky.
