An evening of sweeping romanticism and orchestral grandeur timed perfectly with the golden sunset: On Thursday, 6 August, the prestigious George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra takes the stage at the Belvedere of Villa Rufolo. Under the baton of the internationally acclaimed American conductor Robert Treviño, this legendary ensemble presents a program of profound emotional depth and raw symphonic power. The concert opens with George Enescu’s celebrated Romanian Rhapsody No. 1, a brilliant showcase of folkloric energy and fiery, driving dance rhythms. As the sun dips below the horizon, the evening culminates in Sergei Rachmaninoff’s monumental Symphony No. 2—a lush, deeply moving masterpiece filled with soaring melodies and cinematic passion, perfectly framed by the warm breeze of the Amalfi Coast.
