Cycling Holiday Italy – By Bike and Boat from Mantua to Venice
A cycling holiday through northern Italy where you sleep on the ship. In a week you cycle from Mantua to Venice. You will discover the Italian Po Plain by bike and get to know the unique cultural cities of Northern Italy such as Venice, Ferrara and Mantua. Experience the unspoiled nature of the Po Delta and the islands in the Venice Lagoon. You will spend the nights on a comfortable ship. A perfect holiday by bike and boat for couples or friends.
Cycling from Mantua to Venice – One Week by Bike and Boat in Italy
You stay for a week on a floating hotel and sleep on board in cozy cabins with private bathrooms. The ship anchors in quiet places from which you can easily cycle.
The duration of the trip is seven nights. During this time, one ship sails from Mantua to Venice, the other from Venice to Mantua. You can therefore choose which of the two ships you want to sail with and where you want to start your journey. We would be happy to organize the transfer for you to the starting point or to extend your trip with individual suggestions.There is half board on board. For breakfast you can prepare a packed lunch for on the go. There are rolls, fruit and chocolate bars ready for this, as well as cans for the panniers.
The cycling trip is planned for 8 days / 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday, connecting nights at the point of arrival (Venice or Mantua) are possible.
The Boat and bike trip is ideal for couples, friends and families. Groups can rent the entire ship.

Enjoy Cycling and Culture from Mantua to Venice
During your cycling holiday, combine light physical activity with the cultural treasures and culinary delights of northern Italy. You cycle comfortably through the flat Po Plain and enjoy the beautiful view over the river landscape and the small villages from the bike path.
Get to know Mantua on a guided tour and visit Venice. In a cheese factory you’ll be introduced to the secrets of the famous Grana Padano, which you’ll taste on site.
A special highlight is the in the labyrinth of the Po Delta whit it’s untouched nature and many animal species. You get to know the Venetian lagoon with Chioggia, the little Venice, and the island of Palestrina and Lido. On the island of Murano you will visit the millennia-old glassblowing guild of Italy and the production of its fragile works of art.
The cycling trip is planned for 200 km in five days. The daily route is 25-55 km on paved cycle paths and roads with little traffic. Before or after the Bike%&boat trip you can add more nights to visit Milan, Verona, the Dolomites, Cinque Terre, Florence and other Italian cities and landscapes.
And if you don’t want to cycle, you can also cover stages or parts of it by boat. The cycling holiday is also suitable for children. You get a bike, also e-bikes.
On your cycling holiday in Italy you will visit wonderful cities with a thousand years of history. You come through medieval villages and untouched nature like the Nature reserve of the Po Delta.
This cycling trip offers the unique opportunity to discover Northern Italy by bike. You will cycling along the longest river in Italy, the Po, from Mantua to Venice or in reverse direction.

The “Boat & Bike” tours operate weekly from April to October, running for 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday.

Accommodation on the Ship
There are two ships available, one has a capacity for 20 people, the other for 40 people. As a couple or family, you get a private cabin. The barge can also be booked in full by a group. Then the bike tour will take place exclusively for your group.
The boats are equipped with:
- Double cabins (some of these can accommodate up to 4 persons)
- All cabins have windows or portholes, comfortable low beds, en-suite facilities, air conditioning and safety box.
- The common area is an air-conditioned area and divided into Restaurant and Lounge with screen for video.
- You can stay on the sundeck and have any time at your disposal free hot drinks machine and free wi-fi in the common areas.

MS Ave Maria
- The MS Ave Maria is a river cruise ship for a maximum of 40 passengers.
- 10 cabins on the lower deck with windows, approx. 11 square meters, three of them as 3-bed cabins
- 3 cabins on the lower deck with windows and bunk beds, approx. 7.5 m² for single or double occupancy
- 4 cabins on the upper deck, approx. 11 square meters, two of them are 3/4 bed cabins
- The portholes of the lower deck cabins cannot be opened. The windows of the upper deck cabins can be opened. All cabins on the MS Ave Maria have their own shower/toilet, individually adjustable air conditioning, safe and hair dryer. The beds are at ground level and can be moved.

Pricing
The prices are per person for the cycling trip by Ship and Bike in a two-bed cabin for 7 nights. You will receive half board on board and can prepare a packed lunch. A guided city tour in Mantova and tastings are included in the price. There are discounts for accompanying children or a third person per cabin.
Your tour leader for your cycling holiday is carefully selected. He is an experienced enthusiastic multi-lingual traveler and speaks at least English and German. She/He will be glad to share his passion and love of the outdoors, cultures, and local food.
The staff speaks English, German and Italian.
