The story

The story of the ballet tells of wealth that leads to pride and unrequited love. The action takes place on a country estate in Russia and in the 3rd act in Saint Petersburg. Onegin has inherited and becomes a wealthy landowner. Tatjana, Madame Larina's dreamy daughter, falls in love with Onegin and writes him a love letter. He rejects her love and tears up the love letters addressed to him before her eyes. Onegin adores the second daughter Olga, who, however, is given to the poet Lenski.
