Lucia di Lammermoor • Teatro alla Scala

Lucia di Lammermoor from 13 April to 5 May 2023

Gaetano Donizetti‘s opera Lucia di Lammermoor returns to Milan. The libretto was written by Salvadore Cammarano, based on Walter Scott’s novel The Bride of Lammermoor. The opera in three acts is a typical example of the bel canto era. Lucia di Lammermoor was first performed in 1835 at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. The drama is about two lovers who come from the feuding noble families of Ashton and Ravenswood. Destiny takes its course and ends with the death of the two young people who are only reunited after their death.
