Opera TURANDOT

Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Turandot” will be performed at La Scala in Milan in summer 2024. It is one of the composer’s best-known works and, after the opera La Rondine in April, Puccini’s second work to mark the centenary of Puccini’s death.
Renowned conductor Daniel Harding , known for his sensitive interpretations of 19th- and 20th-century Italian repertoire, was chosen for this performance. Harding has a long-standing artistic relationship with La Scala and its orchestra, dating back to 2005 when he conducted Idomeneo for the season-opener.
This new production of Turandot is directed by Davide Livermore, a veteran director who has directed several acclaimed operas at La Scala in recent years and has already opened four consecutive seasons. Livermore is known for its creative staging and often brings innovative concepts to the stage.
This new production of “Turandot” uses Franco Alfano’s finale, which comes close to the composer’s original intentions.
The role of Princess Turandot will be sung by the renowned soprano Anna Netrebko. In most performances, Yusif Eyvazov takes on the role of Calàf.
