Venice, the city built on water. Blessed with a historic opera house, the Teatro La Fenice, the most famous and renowned landmark in the history of Italian theatre. It was lost to fire 3 times, and always rebuilt. Hence the name La Fenice, the Phoenix, the bird rising from the ashes.
Venice is a very unique place in the world. It is so different and beautiful that it is hard to grasp unless you have been and felt it. First-time visitors are best advised to arrive well prepared and guided.

Satyricon • from January 25th to 29th, 2023
Satyricon is a comic opera composed by Bruno Maderna in 1972.
The libretto to the opera Satyricon was written by Ian Strasfogel, based on a 1st-century AD novel by Petronius Arbiter. Satyricon was first performed at the 1973 Holland Festival. The composer Maderna was already terminally ill at this point.
The opera Satyricon is a form of improvised musical theatre. The opera Satyricon at the Teatro La Fenice is presented as a comic opera and contains many sarcastic moments around the central episode from Petronius’ book Trimalcione’s Dinner. The theme is the crisis of values in a decadent world and its crass vulgarity.
