Venice, the city built on water. Blessed with a historic opera house, the Teatro La Fenice, the most famous and renowned landmark in the history of Italian theatre. It was lost to fire 3 times, and always rebuilt. Hence the name La Fenice, the Phoenix, the bird rising from the ashes.
Venice is a very unique place in the world. It is so different and beautiful that it is hard to grasp unless you have been and felt it. First-time visitors are best advised to arrive well prepared and guided.

Dates of the opera 2022

Le baruffe is a brand new opera by Giorgio Battistelli and an absolute world premiere at the Teatro La Fenice.

The composer Giorgio Battistelli wrote the music for the comedy “Le baruffe chiozzotte” by Carlo Goldoni.
“Le baruffe chiozzotte” means a lot of noise in Chiozza. Carlo Goldoni wrote the comedy in three acts in the Venetian dialect in 1761 and premiered in Venice in 1762. The play takes place in Chioggia south of Venice and is about quarrels and lovesickness in the small lagoon town that lives from fishing.
Damiano Michieletto wrote the libretto for the contemporary opera in the Venetian dialect as well.
