The opera “Il barbiere di Siviglia” (The Barber of Seville) by Gioachino Rossini and will be performed at the Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino from September 8th to 15th, 2022. Gioachino Rossini is one of the most important Italian opera composers of “bel canto”, light opera music.
The comic opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia is an opera in two acts and was first performed in Rome in 1816.
The Barber of Seville has become Rossini’s biggest hit after the opera was booed at its premiere. To date, the opera of the same name by the famous composer Giovanni Paisiello has enchanted opera-goers all over Europe.
Later, Rossini’s opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia became the most famous comic opera in the world and it has remained so to this day. Gioachino Rossini is one of the most important Italian opera composers of “bel canto”, light opera music.
