The story of Aida is interpreted in this new production as a story of all time. The wars currently taking place in the world show us that we do not need to go back in history or to a historical place.
During his time with Opera Aida, Verdi tried to understand the feelings, passions and fears of young people through the expressive versatility of the music.
150 years after the premiere of the Verdi opera Aida with its scenarios with pyramids and sphinxes, military parades, large choirs and mass scenes, the opera project Ayda – Amore Fatale has emerged as a melodrama in the present time.
Children, teenagers, teachers and thousands of Florentine families were involved in this production. The young protagonists have desires and passions.
They experience jealousy and envy, frustration and fear. Feelings and passions are as unchanging today as they were then, restoring the luster of Aida.
