Satyricon is a comic opera composed by Bruno Maderna in 1972. The libretto to the opera Satyricon was written by Ian Strasfogel, based on a 1st-century AD novel by Petronius Arbiter. Satyricon was first performed at the 1973 Holland Festival. The composer Maderna was already terminally ill at this point.
