Ballet Swan lake – Il Lago dei Cigni • from 15 to 27 September 2023

The world-famous ballet Swan Lake is one of the most popular ballets of all and is a classic on all well-known stages in the world. The music was written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The ballet Swan Lake was first performed in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and has been part of the standard repertoire ever since.

From September 15th to 27th, Lago dei Cigni will be performed on the stage of La Scala in Milan choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev.
Rudolf Nureyev first performed his version of Swan Lake in 1990 at La Scala in Milan, where he danced the two roles of Rothbart and Wolfgang himself.
The historical staging was designed by Ezio Frigerio and Franca Squarciapino. It reflects the romance of the music with the white swans on a calm but moving body of water with lights and colors.
